The Academic Journal of Science, Technology and Education is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures to prevent publication malpractice. The journal follows the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process - authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher - to adhere to these standards.
Duties of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism - Authors must submit original works and properly cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
- Multiple Submissions - Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior.
- Authorship - Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research and writing should be listed as authors. Others who contributed in a limited way should be acknowledged.
- Data Access and Retention - Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available if appropriate.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest - Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of their manuscript.
- Correction of Errors - When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obliged to promptly notify the editor and cooperate in the correction or retraction of the article.
Duties of Editors
- Fair Play - Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their academic merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
- Confidentiality - Editors must maintain confidentiality about submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial process.
- Conflict of Interest - Editors must not use unpublished information in their own research without written consent of the author.
- Publication Decisions - Editors are responsible for deciding which articles are accepted for publication, based on the quality of the work, peer review feedback, and the journal’s aims and scope.
Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality - Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them with others outside the editorial process.
- Objectivity - Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear and constructive comments to help authors improve their work.
- Acknowledgement of Sources - Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Conflict of Interest - Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
Handling of Malpractice
The journal takes all ethical violations seriously. In cases of suspected misconduct, the editorial team will investigate in accordance with COPE guidelines. If malpractice is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, including retraction of articles, notification to institutions, or banning future submissions from the responsible individuals.
By submitting to The Academic Journal of Science, Technology and Education, authors agree to abide by these ethical standards and cooperate fully with any investigations regarding ethical breaches.
