Abstract
This article analyzes the role and importance of oral tradition in transmitting the rich cultural heritage of the Karakalpak people from generation to generation. In particular, the process of transmitting national values, historical memory and social experience through epic poetry, folklore samples, legends and tales, proverbs and sayings, and ritual songs is highlighted. Also, the preservation of oral tradition in the conditions of modern globalization, its role in the upbringing of the younger generation and its importance in strengthening cultural identity are evaluated from a scientific point of view. The article serves as an important source for research on the study and preservation of the cultural heritage of the Karakalpaks.
