Abstract
This article examines the role of chordophone instruments in the system of Uzbek national instruments, their historical formation, significance in performance practice, and the musical and cultural characteristics of the Kashgar rubab. The Kashgar rubab holds a special place among Uzbek folk instruments due to its resonant timbre, melodiousness, and wide range of performance possibilities. The article analyzes the functions of this instrument in folklore, traditional performance, ensemble, and orchestral practice. It also reveals the aesthetic and educational significance of the Kashgar rubab in educating the younger generation in the spirit of national musical heritage.
